Remaining pictures from fatt the kelong

I passed my cameras around the crew and some of the pictures they've took are simply too remarkable to be missed out . So here goes...
Freakish weather that broke out suddenly . Strong gales, rough seas, dark skies.. Looks menacing and something you won't get to experience in singapore.
Wei sheng preparing his bait . The both of them , wei sheng and ct had been diligently working hard and fishing through out the trip despite the fact they haven't really fished much before. Surprisingly they are both keen learners and the trip sparked the both of them to get their own fishing tackles.

Jy with his fanciful post which seemed to point to his Hershly kisses. Zzz, I'm so gonna stick with my MnMs...
This is actually emitted from the 1 meter long todak I caught. I got no idea what it was but its agreed by the fellows that its fish sperm. Well, at least its of the same color..
White spotted grouper. This is one of the pet fishes reared at the kelong, its supposed to be an endangered species and it fetches high prices in the market.

Doesn't this picture remind you of a scene in alien vs predator?

Mahjong is available at the kelong at a minimal rental fee of 15 rm per table. I don't understand why people go all the way to play mahjong there though. Probably it feels different playing mahjong under the stars..
The fish less nights.. Ay, this picture is indeed demoralising for all anglers i guess. Still rods, lined up against each other in the dark. ~ depressing...

Kai.. PLease do not do something like that to me if we happened to be in the same bunk at sotc..I'll freak man~!Booze was relatively cheap up north. This two bottles only cost around 20 odd rm , which is like a fraction the price you pay in Singapore for something like that..

My trust worthy and old tica stream star paired with my noodle rod for the todaks. Love the new red line =)
And this is the surf rod william gave it to me. Love its sexy sleekness and its light weight.. Yenkai, stretching his legs while sleeping and while doing that showing off his well grown pubic hair on the shins.. Soon, packing up for the journey back home. I'll be having appointments with him for the next couple of weeks for toman hunting.

And here we've come to the last pic of the whole series. Please be mentally prepared for the greatness of the picture.. here goes....

Fatt the kelong.. part 2

So , as I continued to fish for todaks, i realised that my puny little kunings aren't flying far enough out due to their petite build. In a desperate attempt, I used a palm sized kuning and I casted it out as far as possible.

Luckily, the wind was blowing towards the direction where i was casting, so it brought the bait furthur out. Satisfied with the distance I've casted, I placed my rod on my rod holder and let the current drift my bait out. Ernest was beside me and we're starting a conversation when line started flying out from my open bail . I held on to my trained composure as i waited for the fish to swallow the bait fish. After 30 seconds I decided that it was enough wait and I closed my bail and waited for the fish to make its final run and striked. The strike connected and the fish was on. Line was constantly pouring out of my reel as the nemesis on the other end charged off with its twin powered turbo engine at full blast. As i desperately tried to regain line into my barren spool, the lunch bell went off. Damn.bad timing.. Ernest although complaining that lunch is waiting stayed on to watch the fight and later on gave me support by helping me gaff the fish up. By the time the fish was nearer to the kelong, there was an incoming boat to the kelong. To make matters worst.. the fish swam towards the direction of the boat . I decided to take the chances and tighten my drag and forced the fish back to the correct course. Which it did. Soon, the todak came into the gaffing range for ernest to gaff it up . While on the way back to our ice box, ernest was saying that the fish is smaller then the rest and all. I didn't think so and i took out my measuring scale and measured.
It was a freaking 1 meter long todak and it weighed around 2 kg! Get a load of that. The todak frenzy continued as i landed more of the latter using the same method. All of them are liked sizes too. Soon complained that i should end the todak frenzy which eventually I did as i thought about the limited space we have in our ice boxes. I later regretted that decision though as I got to know that the crew wanted to bring more todaks back home.
Night came and we continued eging again. This time round, every body had a fair share of squid as each of us caught at least one squid. After which, the peeps began setting up the bq pit yk brought along.
Our determination to get big fishes at night at the kelong went to the drain . The fishes just won't bite our baits even with the fresh squid that was presented to them , we still yield no bites. It was all down to the wrong fishing season, current and just plain o' lack of luck I guess..

The night's catches for the squid section was pretty decent though, we ended up with more the 30 over squid . After degutting the fish, I've decided to end the night and turn in.

The following day saw jy waking me up early to fish. He went jigging and got himself some more bait fishes including some godzilla sized tambans . He even got a whiting. For my side I tried todaks again however , for some freakish reason, all our bait fishes died over night and I'm only left with the small one's Jy jigged up . I did managed to get a couple of small todaks though and that kinda summed up the whole trip.

The bunch of us were quite dissappointed with the catch rate though. The usual bjt peeps were hoping for bigger catches then what we have . For that, i express my apology because I didn't managed to fore see that the seasonal timing wasn't right for the big fishes to bite. Despite that, I hope all were able to enjoy the trip as much as I do , I felt that its one of my best fishing trips in terms of the company.Hopefully we'll get to fish together again soon.. lastly, tight lines~

Let these lyrics be my voice and relieve the pain that runs in my veins..

This is one of my all time favourite song from one of my favourite bands.
Its nostalgic and I guess it'ld help me pass through this emotional period of my life.
I don't have and don't wanna to talk to any one about it...
Listen to my cries and my pain from the song..
Let these lyrics be my voice and relieve the pain that runs in my veins..

Fatt the kelong.. part 1

With adequate planning, and a group of 7 enthuiasts, dawn of may 4th 2008 saw a bunch of people making their way to the Sibu island's on a fishing trip. Out of the the 4 kelongs , Ah fatt kelong was selected as our place of stay due to its large space and the fact that its the nearest to the open sea. Spirits were high and the strangers in the group soon became good friends who would look out for each other during the trip.
With our efficient driver , Mr wong, we had enough time to for break fast over at a humble ba kut teh stall over at kota tinggi and still reach the jetty 20 mins before the boat departs. We brought along heavy arsenal for the trip and it was quite a chore carrying it around.

After paying the jetty taxes, we hop on to the ah fatt kelong's ferry to the kelong itself. The water turned from jade green to a clear turquois color which heighten the mood of the group as many of us haven't seen such blue waters before in any of our fishing trips.

We reached the kelong at around 10 a.m and we immediately we setup our tackles for fishing . While a few of us started jigging for bait fishes, the rest were busy setting up our live well . We had a problem with the location of the ac supply due to fact that the wires to our pumps were too short. However, upon plenty of adjustment , we managed to get the pumps connected and we had a fully functional live well.

The kelong had this sign which reminds visitors to throw any unwanted fishes back into the sea. I think this is a good attempt to preserve the waters around the kelong . Hopefully, we can have something like that in singapore as well.

We didn't really caught any big fishes during the first day how ever, we did managed to get a nice bunch of bait fishes and seklahs in our live well. The seklah provided quite some entertainment on light tackle, pull too hard your lead line will break , don't pull hard enough, the fish will go for refuge into the kelong stilts, use too heavy a poundage for the lead line, the seklahs won't take your jig...

Soon night fall and we started eging . Squids were plentiful at the kelong and we could see packs of 6-10 squids swimming together hunting down small fishes and nai niu har(some kinda shrimp) . The bigger ones would be wary of our jigs however, the small ones would chase down the jigs like theres no tommorrow.

The fishes didn't really took our baits even though fresh squids were used. Some malaysian uncles there were telling us that we came at the wrong time of the year for big fishes. They suggested that the monsoon period would produce better catches at the kelong and furthur more, with the jelly fish infestation , it made it even harder to fish.

I didn't had any luck fishing for todaks the first day as there wasn't any current at the kelong, so , when i woke up the next day and saw that the jelly fishes are drifting at a more gradual speed, i set up my noodle rod and began fishing for todaks. I realise that the stronger currents are furthur away from the kelong and I need to cast furthur out that. The running float was a hindered the casting distance so i removed it from the rig and managed a better distance. Surprisingly, the todaks are not as keen to take tambans as kunings. Infact, the bait fishes around the kelong consisted of alot more kunings then tambans , probably thats why.

When every one rants to me ... who do i rant to ..

I don't like how i feel now.

I can't define my feelings..

Its clear that I'm possessed with self centered and menacing perceptions..

I can't help it after being denied with my selfless attempts

I don't wanna create yet another situation..

I'm sorry if I wasn't what was expected.

I'm sorry I can't remain emotionless , I'm still human.

I'm sorry for the circumstances that I can't resolve.

I feel sorry for myself too.

This is not an attempt to strain the relationship but an attempt to clear my thoughts and unwind.

Please don't blame me for this or take this negatively...

I just want to rant and empty the bottle...
