A little trip to hell

Well well here I am on a typical Friday morning blogging . Tsk, in a few moments time I'll be out of earth and be sent to a land where the man in Singapore , detest the most. Due to the recent tightening of media security in my work, I can't really go into specific details of what I'm doing or what I am going to do. However, I'll drop discernible hints and perhaps you could pick it up.
So, In hours time I'll be sent of on a little "holiday" to no man's land . Sounds pretty cool huh, but on the contrary , it isn't . The temperature averages a whooping 38 degrees Celsius over there, hell on earth isn't just happening in story books any more.

The fact that I'm too cool a person makes heat my kryptonite. I've got heart stopping events happening before during the heat epidemic.Though worrying , I believe that every fall makes a man stronger, so don't worry the cool dude would last through the ordeal.
Its taxing not only physically though , deep within , something is going to be temporarily ripped away from me during this period.Despite the uncountable series of uncertainties,I certainly agree that things would turn out better if I could last through this period.
Some one mentioned that I'm like a Jet plane , I'm always moving too fast. I like that description though, which made me develop a fondness for the super hero FLASH recently =). Ay, when ever some one mentions that I'm too fast, I always imagine myself being a red crimson streak of light. Oh well, Jc is being over his head again .

Ever tried wine tasting? Its a culture of a high society I guess, or perhaps, a side path paved by an imminent alcoholic =) A good wine , i felt really depends on the essence that flow through the whole wine taste process. From the first taste, till the gentle yet engulfing swell in your mouth as the tongue twirl around the toxic in your mouth and the bitter yet sweet after taste when you gulp it down. Lately , after a visit to the wine cellar, there is one which caught my eye . Its amber red toxic looks devious yet alluring. The first taste was seemingly familiar yet it conjured up a pleasant swell as my let the liquid flow through the cavity. Surprisingly for a swell at such a calibre, it had a unique , gentle yet pleasant after taste. This bottle of wine is a keeper =) A fine companion and compliment , its composure and elegance falls into place like the missing pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. I'm pretty sure I made a right choice=)

Chronicles of an air borne trooper:The recruit

Beads of perspiration trickled down the eye brows, some getting into the eye as I mustered strength to remain in the push up position . Amidst the grunts and scream of pain, hundreds of us maintained that poise , while the loud hailer remained silent. All eyes focused on the person holding the loud hailer.

"Pain is temporary.. Glory is forever" the man whispered... through the loud hailer..

That spurred an unseen energy amongst the crowd , I felt this deep heat rushing down from the back of my skull flowing through the body as I continued pumping countless hundredth times of push up. I heard my comrades cries in pain, I screamed , desperate to out voice the pains in my arms. I could hardly keep my eyes open as beads of perspiration got into my eyes, then the whistle blew.

As I lay face down, cheek pressed on the tarmac, I struggled to capture my breath.I flipped onto my back trying to get a better posture for air to enter. As I looked at the clear morning sky from the edge of my eye, I saw an eagle , soaring freely across the sky. No matter the amount of pain I had within myself , I could have only but two words to console myself, For Honour and Glory.

The marriage

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I’ve got something to tell you.She sat down and ate quietly.Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.Suddenly I didn’t know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking - I want a divorce.
I raised the topic calmly. She didn’t seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly - Why?I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man!
That night, we didn’t talk to each other. She was weeping.I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Dew.I didn’t love her anymore.I just pitied her!
With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company. She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces.
The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me, had become a stranger.I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Dew so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see.To me, her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.
The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table.I didn’t have supper but went straight to bed and fell asleep soon because I was tired after an eventful day with Dew.When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing.I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.
In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn’t want anything from me, but needed a month’s notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month’s time and she didn’t want to disrupt him with our broken marriage. This was agreeable to me.But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day.She requested that everyday for the month’s duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning.I thought she was going crazy.Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.
I told Dew about my wife’s divorce conditions…She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.
My wife and I hadn’t had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mummy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don’t tell our son about the divorce.I nodded, feeling somewhat upset.I put her down outside the door. She went to wait for the bus to work.I drove alone to the office.
On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest.I could smell the fragrance of her blouse.I realized that I hadn’t looked at this woman carefully for a long time…I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her.For a minute, I wondered what I had done to her.
On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me.
On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again.I didn’t tell Dew about this.It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by.Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.
She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger.I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.Suddenly it hit me… she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart.Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head. Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it’s time to carry mum out.To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life.My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly.I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute.I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally.I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.But her much lighter weight made me sad.
On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school.I held her tightly and said, I hadn’t noticed that our life lacked intimacy.
I drove to office…. jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door.I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind…I walked upstairs.Dew opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Dew, I do not want the divorce anymore. She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead.Do you have a fever? She said.I moved her hand off my head.Sorry, Dew, I said, I won’t divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn’t value the details of our lives, not because we didn’t love each other any more. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart.Dew seemed to suddenly wake up.She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears.
I walked downstairs and drove away.At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card.I smiled and wrote - I’ll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.
That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face.I ran up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed - dead.
The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank, blah..blah..blah.These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse’s friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy.

Happy birthday Hoe and Kok~

Woots two of my friends just officially stepped into adult hood . Chong hoe and km.

I could still remember how we spent our time together as class mates during our secondary school days. In a blink of an eye its been 8 years already. Unbelievable how much this friendship had stretched.
Jeeze, this sudden reunion had made me looked back at the path I've took. After being through so much I realised that there isn't a better place to be at then with a bunch of friends just chilling. Some how i felt that the 2e1 batch are perhaps the best people I can count on to be around when i need a mate or company.
Even though we've got our differences and occasional disputes among each other I felt that every time we get together, every thing seems to be the same 8 years ago. Call it naive but I really feel at ease hanging around these bunch of people.

This week end would be perhaps the best week end I had in a long time.

Pinkie rocks

Went fishing with Jy as usual on our Sunday morning routine. Ay, due to my carelessness , i left my reel at home and i only discovered the missing reel when we reached the spot. The spot requires plenty of tracking and was kinda pissed with myself. The earlier hour of the session then saw me running back to my place to get my reel but it was well paid off as i managed to catch my second jungle snake head with the pinkie lure again~

I think fishes are getting more and more hype now adays.XD

July the 9th was the last post I've made in this blog. Its the 1st of march now in 2009, time sure flies . I could still remember the doubtful feelings days before my enlistment into the commando school. I didn't have any idea of what is going to happen in there. At this point of time, I couldn't believe I've achieved so much in my service term.

The first 2 months of my NS saw me being more enthusiastic and selfless as I step into the the school as a fresh recruit. It was the most gruelling part of my training because we're new and we're not accustomed to the regimental regulations in the army yet. Its the time where the instructors will grill the boys hard . High lights of my bmt I felt was the 8 days out field we had and our 24 km route march back for our pop and of course, donning the jungle hat , morphing us from commando sperms to commando fetus =)

I pushed myself throughout my BMT phase which resulted me in getting better gradings . That enabled me an entry into one of saf toughest courses . The commando leader course. The 3 months spent in the course was perplexing. I'm not joking, I've seen my course mate break down in the duration of the course, it was the longest 3 months of my life. I'm just glad that I pulled through the ordeal and am now a commando leader =)

We had our airborne training which was rather enjoyable as it was right after my leader course. "Since the commando leader course is the toughest course for nsf, the rest of the course would be nothing right? " was what one of the 3rd sergeant said during the first day in air borne school. For me , I consider the training standards rather acceptable , given the above fact. Whats more, it was during air borne that I'm able to get nights out every night . Probably one of the greatest obstacle during the course, or should i say for all commandos is to have the courage to jump of the air craft. Despite knowing the dangers of the jump, all of us still leaped off the air craft , be it pushed out or not. Sadly though, it is during the jumps that many of the trainees get their limbs injured and go out of course. Here's a clip on how it really is inside the air craft. Its exactly the same thing .

Its really an imprinting experience during my first jump as i still remembered I had flash backs on my child hood during the free fall.

After we graduated from airborne school we were were promoted to our current ranks now and had shifted to the first commando battalion . That's where all the commandos are. That's where I am at now , and that is where I will end my term as a commando . I'm almost halve way though my NS term and looking back at my doubts before I came into here, I'm pretty sure now that I've made the right choice=)

Well, these 8 months or so wasn't entirely spent on serving the nation. I had been fishing a lot . In fact, me and Jun yuan had almost a weekly fishing Sunday morning fishing going on for some time . Its just so convenient to fish for me as my camp is just beside the beach.

Oh well, so much so for the update. Hopefully , I'll return to posting on a more regular basis and in a less sloppy manner like this.

For honour and glory ☜|☞

As my date to enlistment draws nearer, I just can't find enough time to write a decent blog post any more. Probably, this will be the last of Jc's blog post on this blog . If you noticed, I don't even have time to blog for the rest of my thailand trip. My time is spent going out with my mates ,fishing, going out with the girl and working too.The goal is to spend my remaining time before ns as fulfilling as possible and I guess I managed to fufill that already.

I think Ns would be significant milestone in my life as I think that it marks a conclusion to my teenage life and the beginning of adulthood for me. The thought of me with a shave head and rushing through the jungles of brunei with a rifle is still not exactly imaginable yet for myself. Probably after I'm done with the cdo training, I'll rid myself of this naive mindset and probably develop an ego to suit the experience .

I'm gonna miss the bunch of people who were always by my side during this confinement period .

Elly the girl I'm going to miss too much.

I know you've been tolerating my temperament and having not enough time to spend with you lately . Trust me even though I'm sad when I'm pissed and all, I'll feel worse when you become depressed over my emotion breakdowns. You are the person i can pour most of my true feelings to and probably, you are the person who have seen me in my worst state. If I Knew ns would come so soon I would have told you all these words slowly and dearly everyday. I've said perhaps for thousand of times , over the phone, text messages, in your face, on a card, on msn and probably through another person but I'm gonna say it to you for the first time on this blog as directly as this. I love you.

Ernest my would be best man for the wedding.

Fucker ,see la, fail napfa purposely la , extra 2 mths la.. Laugh at you~ what do you think you are trying to do when you said all those gay words at the bust stop the day before.. trying to make me cry is it! Well, I'ld give you credit for that, Its quite a good shot. Damn, I don't know what I'ld be if i don't get those not so advisable to listen to advices man. I'ld also say that although I seem to be ordering you around and treating you like shit... you are still my best candidate for the position of my best man eh .. and don't worry, I'll try to get a suitable bridesmaid accordingly to the preferences you gave me~!

The mates louis and GArY..

Don't ask me why you guys don't get the special privilege of being labeled as a category . Ay, from the talk cock sessions at fc 6 , to the disturbing the leader and dj pang session, I'ld miss all those man. Especially drinking sessions with gary talking shet after hes drunk and ernest rolling all over the place. Jeeze, don't worry dudes, after the pop .. we'll hang out together with the leader and dj pang and make fun of them ~

The peeps from the darlings..

Probably some of you wouldn't care about my state now, but ay, I still care about the bulk of you as i read through your blogs and rants about your daily life. Expressing concern would be luxury for me probably because i don't wanna make myself seem to be there only for awhile.. if thats the case , i rather not be there at all.. if you get what i mean. With that , probably i've drifted away from the hearts of you guys but I'm sure you guys would always remain close to my heart,, I'ld always feel at home when I'm hanging out with the bunch of you , even though we've not met for a long time.. haha so i guess, I'm leaving home again this time?

To miss Guo .. the zhi~

Lol, Aiya, where have you and i been la. i don't knw why I see online everyt ime i nvr go double click on you and talk to you la.. Probably Im' more busy browsing through my fishing kaki and watching youtube or something la. BUT , that don't make you less significant with contrast to them. Well, judging from everything, I guess you're doing fine ( as of 6/7/2008 10:44:36 PM) so ahah, all the best with you and you !BING~ jeeze, the name .. the name.. =/

To the people I've missed out..

I'm sorry there are jsut too many for me to type it all out, but I'll definitely remember all of you and the memories we had together. Too bad we could carve deeper ones...

Ay, with that I guess I'm pretty much ready to serve already. I think I'll make it a point to

serve my ns as happily as I could

move up to the rank as high as possible

spend enough time with the people i cared

do this shet for honour and glory.

All the best for me , and I'ld like to thank all the readers who had been reading this blog up till now .. the 516th post.. phew...

Pattaylicious

For the first couple of days of the tour , I had my trusty Dslr with me until it ran out of battery on the second day. Due to my own carelessness I've forgotten to bring along my battery charger so I got to resort to Marcus's 2mp hand phone camera to capture graphics to sugar coat the logs. Luckily I've contacted some of the fellow photographers whom join us on this trip who were kind enough to spare me their photos for my blog post and for that ,I owe a big thank you to them. With that in mind, it would pretty much explain why the posts are coming in so slowly because I've got loads of compilation and editing to do , and the 2mp camera didn't produce photographs that i deemed nice so i had to put more work on photo shop to make up for it.
Well, that being that , I'll move on to today's post~!

Thailand is well known for their wide variety of food which are both delicious and very affordable.
Their flavours were often mainly sweet or spicy or both . Although most of their dishes are available already in Singapore , you could only get the most authentic dishes from the country it self.
The tour package includes our meals and its always extremely sumptuous. We were either eating buffet all the time or our meals would be often an over kill. For example, this is a typical lunch over at pattaya..

If you think thats it, you're so darn wrong. Thats only the main dish , the rest of the steamed fishes , mussels, clams, veges , tom yum soup practically left us hands tucked while eating the imbal mountain of food. As we're situated next to the beach, our meals consisted heavily on seafood based dishes.
How ever, with that in mind, the hotel we lodged in would always often us a change in variety of food for their buffets. The buffets was something that Me and Marcus would look forward to alot in Singapore before the Thailand trip due to our insatiable appetite , however, we kinda got turned off by the idea of unlimited food by the end of the trip. I actually got tired of getting up and down the table to get myself some juice at some point that I started using my water bottle instead.
Booze over at thailand is freaking cheap at about 1.20 sgd for a bottle . I fell in love with these particular brand SINGHA which taste so much better then the rest .

As we engaged in pretty much night activities there, I also had a fair range of energy drinks to do a taste test and so far , I find that this particular brand caught my eye.Muggers out there who needs an energy boost, this will be a good one.
Another thing that gave plus points to the tour's accommodation is that the tour guides always brings and encourage us to have spa and thai massage . The price of a spa package which includes a herbal sauna and steam sauna session as well as a jacuzzi session and a thai oil massage session cost 500 bath of which, we all get to have a package free as part of the tour . To add on, the price of a simple thai massage is roughly around 190 to 250 bath per hour session thus ,its not difficult to understand why the tour guide encourages us so much to go for the massage.
After this trip, I feel like an abominable piece of lard walking around the house. Geeze, time to train up~!

Prologue:The trip to pattaya

June saw me in a more solemn light as my time to serve in NS draws nearer. The thought of the government robbing me of my life sucks . No matter how much I tried to be an optimist about Ns , I just couldn't take my head of the thought of the lack of freedom. My mum then suggested a trip to thailand before I go for Ns. Well, its been eons since I've went overseas with my family thus I thought this would be a good time.Perhaps the last time I could go with them till a very long time.

The trip was fun and I've made lots of friends and learnt a good wealth of knowledge from the trip . I'll continue blogging and posting more pictures of my trip through out the next few days so keep you eyes peeled ppl!

Remaining pictures from fatt the kelong

I passed my cameras around the crew and some of the pictures they've took are simply too remarkable to be missed out . So here goes...
Freakish weather that broke out suddenly . Strong gales, rough seas, dark skies.. Looks menacing and something you won't get to experience in singapore.
Wei sheng preparing his bait . The both of them , wei sheng and ct had been diligently working hard and fishing through out the trip despite the fact they haven't really fished much before. Surprisingly they are both keen learners and the trip sparked the both of them to get their own fishing tackles.

Jy with his fanciful post which seemed to point to his Hershly kisses. Zzz, I'm so gonna stick with my MnMs...
This is actually emitted from the 1 meter long todak I caught. I got no idea what it was but its agreed by the fellows that its fish sperm. Well, at least its of the same color..
White spotted grouper. This is one of the pet fishes reared at the kelong, its supposed to be an endangered species and it fetches high prices in the market.

Doesn't this picture remind you of a scene in alien vs predator?

Mahjong is available at the kelong at a minimal rental fee of 15 rm per table. I don't understand why people go all the way to play mahjong there though. Probably it feels different playing mahjong under the stars..
The fish less nights.. Ay, this picture is indeed demoralising for all anglers i guess. Still rods, lined up against each other in the dark. ~ depressing...

Kai.. PLease do not do something like that to me if we happened to be in the same bunk at sotc..I'll freak man~!Booze was relatively cheap up north. This two bottles only cost around 20 odd rm , which is like a fraction the price you pay in Singapore for something like that..

My trust worthy and old tica stream star paired with my noodle rod for the todaks. Love the new red line =)
And this is the surf rod william gave it to me. Love its sexy sleekness and its light weight.. Yenkai, stretching his legs while sleeping and while doing that showing off his well grown pubic hair on the shins.. Soon, packing up for the journey back home. I'll be having appointments with him for the next couple of weeks for toman hunting.

And here we've come to the last pic of the whole series. Please be mentally prepared for the greatness of the picture.. here goes....
