Bibi the silky terrier

So one of my side jobs earlier this year was to have a few snap shots of this little dog which belongs to my aunt . A silky terrier by the name of Bibi. Tsk, i know its a cliche name , but ay , what to do , it runs in the family.

Haven't really been doing photo shoots for doggies before except for my late dog,. ah beng using the old digi cam. Tsk, well with the dslr , new possibilities with the photos are explored. In this series , I explored with bounce flash.
Ay, its all about the lighting and how you want light to enter into your sensor I feel , is what photography is about. Light capturing , I'd call it, with the camera as your magic wand to capture light.
Bibi was a very cooperative client whom remain seated when ever the camera is pointed at it .In fact , he is too obedient. I had to hide my camera away and take it out to take a candid shot of him in order for him to give me other poses.

Personally, i thought to myself that its very difficult to do indoor shoots without an external flash system. I had to struggle with the inbuilt flash system with a piece of card board to bounce of the light so that it won't be harsh . A $430 external flash would do a better job with that. Well, photography ain't called an expensive hobby to pursue for nothing i supposed.

Well, it was fun working with the pup during the hour session. It simply couldn't take his eyes of my camera unless food is presented in front of him. Simply lovable. Makes me reminiscence on ah beng though. I wonder where that faggot went to on its own but I'm pretty sure he should be doing fine.

Detail 8

So , today I went for my vocational assessment at hendon SAF commando camp to allow the latter to further access whether I’m suitable for the unit or not. The location of the camp is irritatingly far. Smack in the middle of Loyang Avenue opposite Changi hospital, it made my butt cramp like I was having menstrual right after I alighted from the bus.

Well, being a commando is pretty neat stuff I felt. You get to keep in shape better than the rest of the units, you get to be honored by people and best off, you are paid to parachute =). That’s exactly what I told the officer interviewing me when he asked why I like to be in the battalion. While the whole atmosphere at the camp was pretty niche and all, we are treated to a grueling 11 hours of time spent in the camp mostly on waiting for our turn to be examined.

Assessment was based on several of physical and mental test and of course a test on our keenness to join the camp. Well, it’s just a series of test, which is pretty boring to me.

Well, if I’m in, that means that I've got to be going thru and fro from that camp for the next two years. Sigh, any one got any shorter bus route to suggest to me?

Whose fault is it?

As he looked back at you with his menacing eyes, you see agony and hatred, you heart saw the painful experiences he went through reflecting on those tears trickling down his face. You began blaming yourself, for your inappropriate form of teachings and care for your son throughout the years that saw him mature. Ultimately, whose fault is it?

He was so tiny and fragile the first time you saw him and you began to develop this acute sense of preventing harm from coming his way. His lovely smiles etched in the back of your head replacing any form of stress or unpleasantness.

You know that you only wanted the best for your kid so you worked for those hard earned cash as a hawker in the day and taxi driver by night in order to fund your son for his education. You hired a maid and sent him to child care while you worked. He begins getting used seeing the shadow of you leaving the house early in the morning from the corner of his eyes while lying on the bed and getting the cold pat on the shoulder when he shows you that little star on the piece of paper. Your work persists and your temperament grew thin and nights without quarrelling with your wife were seldom. You began questioning yourself.

Your son's studies were compromised as he finds no pride in his work. Eyes perceived him as a delinquent who will grow into nothing more than an average Joe. His friends were of no good and soon he joined their legacy of doom. There was no one that could stop him or care about him as he finds no one to listen or look after his actions. He finds emptiness at home and took the streets till the day turns night. He began to question himself.

The days passed, your health deteriorates. The school sends you a letter complaining of your son's behavior in school. You got devoured by violence and turn it towards your own son as your temperaments gave fuel to your actions. It was just the cane at first then your weapon of choice changed to the belt and you simply used your fist for convenience the next time round. Your hearts aches more than the pain that was instilled in your child. You question yourself as you hurt him and yourself even more. Fatigue hits you as this nights of torments occur even more frequent then you can ever imagine.

Your son is confused. He turns to his friend for guidance. They don't even know what they want.
He smokes. He skips school. Just to find for his friends who became one of his main reason for living. The pain you instilled in him became numb and soon hatred. His hatred grew and got a better of him during his last birthday that you've long forgotten due to your multiple work shifts. As you held up your fist to deliver a punch to him for yet another mistake, he shoves you away and retaliates with a punch. His tears trickled down his face, he looked back at you with his menacing eyes, you see agony and hatred, you heart saw the painful experiences he has been through and you question, whose fault is it?

We learn more then those who succeed..

Sorry for this long period of absence. Work was seriously the culprit of this prolonged drought from postings. Well, on a fine note, I've finished up all of my work and my final year project has dramatically came to a full stop.

The series of events that happened for my project was terribly devastating and heart wrenching. I guess in life , we all must fall in order to learn how to pick ourselves up and be stronger again.

We'll leave those melancholic thoughts aside, in this post, I'm gonna post about Pine apple tarts!

I've been itching to bake pine apple tarts for a very long time since I've got my oven and when elly said she loved pine apple tarts, i couldn't help but relieve my itch and bake the tarts. =)

As a prologue, i went online to browse through a few recipes and there was a plentiful of splendid recipes lying around the the net i tell you. Well, i especially liked this one from a baker's video blog.

Well, I'm not going to go into indepth details on how the tarts are made, most like , very basic ingredients that is all adopted from the web's concept.

Lets start of with the filling. I was skeptical about which pine apples i should choose when i found out that there is a variety to choose from. Well, i decided on the honey pine apples from thailand in the end and seriously, if you wanna do this, get the fruit vendor to peep the pine apple for you, it is much more entertaining and efficient to watch them do it then do it yourself.

Next would be to pulverize the pine apple. You can do this by grating , mincing or blending them in a food processor. For this case, Jc is a lazy person who believes in efficiency so i let my blender rip=)

For cooking the pine apple pulp, it'ld take a hell of a time. Why so you ask? We need to get almost all the liquid in the pulp out of the latter by vapourizing them. Seriously, a flame thrower would be good how ever, you can also do that by using your frying pan . Using a non stick pan would be ideal to ease the hassle of washing up, how ever, a normal would do fine too.

Pour the stuffs into the pan which is heated over with medium heat for around 5 mins and begin cooking . You'll find yourself so anxious that you'll constantly stir the mixture but , thats totally a waste of effort. Just let the mixture boil gently with the medium heat and give it a couple of stirs every 5-10 mins or so . If you don't want to dirty the stove , you could lid the wok. How ever, do cover it halve way so that the vapour can escape . This ordeal will take around an hour or so , and i strongly suggest you put more attention into the pulp at around the later 30 mins where the sauce begins to become thicken. This also meant that you should stir it more often to prevent burning.

Approximately at the 55th minute of so, the pulp will almost be thicken to an almost solid form to that of the thing that comes out of your in built disposal system (under normal circumstances please) . It will be good to add sugar or any sweetening agent at this point of time. Do not add any of those from the start as it will caramelize. Fold what is needed to be folded in and voila, you've got ur fillings done. Let it cool before working on them.

Next is the dough. This is the tricky part as you've got to get the proportions right. I suggest you follow that of those from the website. Get your flour and sugar in the mixing bowl and mix them well together. I suggest you use a whisk for this . Whisk some vanilla essence in the powder mixture. Then cut up the butter and mix them into the powder mixture. I suggest you do this with you hands, wash them of course( who knows how recent did you just clean your in-built disposal system).Keep kneading the mixture until they are consistent and voila, you've got ur dough.

I suggest you shape each of them to balls like what is shown in the pictures and it'ld make it easier to work with. do what ever shapes or design you want and place them on a piece of baking paper on the tray. Pre heat oven to around 190 or so (depending on how old your oven is ,older meant that it'ld need to be higher ). If you are making these tarts to suit a vegeterian's diet then end here and proceed with baking for 10 mins. If not, coat a layer of egg yolk on the top of the pastry and chuck them into the oven for baking. The end result should be splendid. =)

What?

Ay seriously, now adays i'm wondering what the hell i'm doing. Every day seemed to be so yesterday or maybe it was so good it didn't happened at all. Maybe its stress from school. MAYBE. Arh fuck it, it must be. Time is passing so fast that I can't keep track of what ever i'm doing.

Now, luckily, I've got the blog to pen down what i've done so i could think of whats not done. Seriously, this malicious bug creeping in me is seriously crippling me. Its like my work is sluggish bla bla shet. No honey , its not you, I just need to start waking up my idea( this is quoted ) .

Ok updates . So recently me and Ernest is cooking up some nonsensical yet jolly good plans. That is to buy cartons of coke and packets and mentos and feed fat little boys with those and watch them explode and smother every one with their lard. yay.

Ok fine , no, we are not gonna do that shet. Kinda mindless. We're all mature and looking for things with better prospects and such now.. Ay, but just to keep the suspense going, I'll leave this one till the plan worked out.

Jeeze, crap.

The control freak

He held on to his mobile so tightly , waiting for any form of reaction from it. He knew , that its life is over and every time he flips it open ,it will be just a blank black screen. The melody ringing inside of him manifested his soul, echoing submissive thoughts to the devil that was within him.

The sky turned grey and his heart felt like burnt ashes. The neurons and synapses around his eyes began reacting as what seemed like ideology became real. Black warmth embraced his fallen will and he felt helpless like the man he is.

He grimaced as pain came inwardly , the worst torment one could have.Losing sight, sound and sanity he walked amongst shadows. No one understood his feelings nor actions, as he continue holding onto his mobile so tightly.

Marcus's ride

Previously i mentioned about talking about marcus's bike in the post. Well, his bike i'ld say is one of the best setup bike among the three of them. What to do , I can't resist to pamper my little bro with a smooth ride.
Of course , among the three, this bike would be the hardest and most time consuming bike for me to set up. The theme was black for the bike as I was going through a phase full of hate while thinking of the colors.
OF COURSE NOT, i wanted to give the bike alittle tinge of attitude thus , black. If you pay close attention, you could see that the coat is Matt coated, and jeeze i'm telling you, matt coat is super tough to do. I need 5 cans of spray and each coat like i said has to be applied onto it between1 hour intervals. See how time consuming it is?
Unlike the other two bikes, the technology on this bike is much more up to date then the other two bikes. V brakes, front suspensions , deore rear derailleur ,ceramic cranks.. what else can a 13 year old kid ask for from his bro for Christmas.

Well, in fact , the bike hasn't been completed yet as i've haven't added any designs onto it. So here is actually a concept i came out with from using photo shop. What do you guys think? I might be following up with the concept after i graduate. Woots. More bling!
I would like to Thank zai from veloroutes specially because he is the one who helped me out with alot of parts which i don't know how to install or repair. He also summarized the whole bike build by fine tuning every thing on it. Thus woots, a street like ride is done , totally awesome. P.s , i love picture descriptive essays as of now =)

The geek in the pink

So for the entire monsoon season, I've been busy working with school work and all. What kept me seriously out of breath was these few projects I did up on the school's unwanted bikes. Tremendous efforts and time were being spent on accomplishing the projects of which two out of the three of them really had me on my heels. For almost every day I went to school straight to work on the bikes and after much cranking and tightening of bolts , I'm extremely relived that the bikes are finally ready and rolling .I'm so please that i want to document this entire process onto the blog.So first off , we'll start with my favourite out of the three. The Geek in the pink.

This was how it looked like before the paint job and all. In fact , this bike in the photo belongs to wee hou which was pretty much revamped already , the original geek in the pink looks much tattered and part less as compared to the one you are looking at now. I wished i had taken photos of the process but time wasn't keen on letting me do that as i got to complete the bikes before Christmas.

The first two weeks of the ordeal basically had me scourging the bike sheds for usable parts for the geek . I also stripped the parts and paint from the frame during that period of time. It was already two weeks before Christmas when i managed to do all of those.

Then I had to paint of the primer coat, the first coat of paint which prevents rust and all, on the frame and fork. It was a seriously taxing ordeal as i had to wrapped stuffs up and i hate the smell of the paint which eventually made me ill during the first coat. Lucky i bought a mask from daiso for the next round of coating.

Browsing the colour charts for the coloured paint, i decided that i should go on with pink as I'm giving the bike to my sister. Well, the idea was to add a little feminine touch to the bike but seriously, I like the bike so much now. Its grabbing attention every where i ride it to.

On the third week , Zj decided that he doesn't want to take his bike home from school and decided to give it out , thus i gladly stripped many of his parts and placed them onto the geek. His parts really gave the geek a good bling of red.

Painting the bikes requires a person to very patient and meticulous. Even after saturating my self with notes about painting frames from the web site, i still get mistakes such as tear drops and uneven coating. Resulting in a touch up, or even worst, I had to start the entire process again once when it was really bad. That seriously crippled my process as i needed the frame to be ready to be able to put the parts on. If not for the few sunny days before Christmas , the frame wouldn't dry and i won't be able to give the bike to my sis for Christmas.

Christmas eve's afternoon saw me mounting all the parts on to the bike . "From what seems nothing , to actually a very awesome looking bike"as quoted from what cheng ann (Sp adventurer's ex president) the bike was finally done up just after lunch .

The more I look at it , the more i'm falling in love with the geek in the pink. Its named after the song as I was cycling it back home when the Dj played the song over the radio. I'm glad wee hou helped me through out the bike stripping process which was the most painful . Then there was also cheng ann who helped me out during the bike mounting process , and I can't be more grateful to have sweetenor accompanying me through out eve without aircon and enduring my greasy hands and sweaty shirt for almost the entire month when i spent working on the bikes. Thanks hun for being understanding and supportive... One sweet ride done up, next up, marcus's bike ........

Insomia leads to Utopia

After hanging up on the phone at around 11pm last night i decided to hit the sack as this morning's class was pretty darn early. How ever , after countless attempts to try to sleep ; changing sleeping postures, counting sheeps and ships and all... I still couldn't sleep.

The culprit.

It was mentioned at some point of the phone conversation and my mind went auto pilot on the various forms a brownie could take and i ended up salivating on my pillow , feeling hungry and being deprived of my sleep. Tsk. This is worse then a hang over. The alarm clock went off for more then halve and hour until i pulled myself out of bed this morning. This is all because of BROWNIES!!!!YOU SWEET TASTING CHEWY LITTLE THINGS!!!

Club Politics, the stuffs they say behind the Cca booths

So I took an early escape from school and jumped onto my bike right after I reached home.I'm feeling much better after about more then halve and year of not cycling as advised by the doc. The knee injury seemed to have gone away completely. Yay!~

Well, prior to the evening's session I called wee hou , one of the junior members of sp cyclists to join me on my little road trip. Wee hou is , lets say is a very critical kid and he had plenty of comments on the current management for Sp cyclists. After hearing all of his complains , made up of mostly explicit contents , I reflected on the whole point and purpose of the existence of the club.

I remembered when i was in Year 1 , I joined Sp cyclist with the thought of using the opportunity as a stepping stone to form and be part of a professional race team. Truth is , what i was told then, when i was at the booth , wasn't what I expected to get at this point of time.

I'm not disappointed , however , maybe because I realised that the whole idea i was harbouring then was pointless to start with. Then the benevolent or maybe some would say, nosey side of me would kick in and I question myself, what would the other members who are deprived of what they wanted feel?

Its not like every one has the same perception as I do and not every one would be so 'happy go lucky' like me.(well, you guys jolly well know why i quoted that phrase) There would be more people like Wee hou now whom is dissatisfied with the out come of being a member of a club, and feeling a sense of deceit. Wouldn't that make the whole 'the club is good for you' talk at the cca booth a scam?

Seriously, now i feel disgusted at my own club .Perhaps even at my self, for marketing the club so intensively that it involved misleading people's perception of the club. Well, I believe the club members who are reading this would know who I'm referring to particularly. Yes, to the particular person who holds the responsibility and power now, note, responsibility comes first before power. I hope you reflect on yourself and your lack of actions to lead .

Woots, cycling to ntu was fun especially when on lookers watch on in either disgust or awe us overtake the buses. Baby , i hope you like the surprise as a whole package, good luck and study hard for the coming exams eh. =)

ARGH! hahaha , i'm loving it. Hope the fresh looks appeals to every one! ciao~

Immatrue

Immature adj.
Not fully grown or developed.

Marked by or suggesting a lack of normal maturity: silly, immature behavior.

Today some one commented that the Guys from Poly are childish. Now people, poly mates or none poly mates,Guys and Gals ,this is yet another form of stereo typing people with the means of asking for a mob.

As far as I recall, I'm at least matured enough not to give stereo types like this because, we all know immaturity is a characteristic that is in every one of us.Seriously, answer me if you have to (ps . Its an Rhetorical question) , do you think that the degree of maturity of a person is of coherence with the form of education he is receiving?

Well, so much as to what i believe , at this point of time , as in our age, is that maturity is of an individualistic form of variance. I think that a person can choose to be mature or not, be it strutting around going all philosophical or sort. Period, I shall not start defining what i deem is mature of a person.

Poly mates , don't gloat, I'm not scoring one for the team or what , the whole point is to identify the lameness of the universe and eradicate irrational critics. Stereo typing is OK =) I always think that fat people don't like to do exercise =)

Napfa

I just made a booking to take my NAPFA test 30 minutes ago on my school's web portal system. 4th of December. Then I realise, that I'm one month away from being graded and I'm now a halve mutated BLOB OF FAT! SHIT...I need to devise a 1 month training regime to pass Napfa.Immediately.

E learning week went by pretty fast , and there isn't much stuffs to be taken note of other then work and e-learning work. Well maybe I was just too lazy to blog every day , and that resulted in, a partial loss of memory as I took a longer time to record it down here. Woops.

CAs coming up, Enjoy Peeps~!

Contrasts

How many times in life do we only remember some stuffs that we think is significant and forget about the stuffs that makes what ever it is significant?

So many times .

Like what the Mayor's advisor from the Simpson movie would say," We'll need 50 strong men and another 50 weak men to make the strong men look strong"

We need white men to make the black men look black , we need smart people to make the dumb people dumb, we need losers in order to have a winner, we need back stabbers to let us see who our friends are, we need love to have hate .

After some reflections on my own , i thought that the reason why I'm emoing so much every time is because I've been only remembering the times that i was sad. The things that made me sad . In fact, i sub consciously forget about the happy stuffs that made the sad stuffs look sad.

Maybe my level of autism is being brought to a higher level as I'm beginning to see things forming into a full circle. Every line that starts the circle will meet with the other end to form a full circle. Every step we take, will meet with what we deserve to be in.

There is just so many contrast in life that i think we mustn't forget . That may be the key in living a more balanced and enriched life .

The definition of a jerk

I guess whats done is done and it can't be undone. I was being a very selfish and insensitive person. I misplaced your trust for me and threw you around like a toy. I know now I don't deserve to be a good friend nor the best man for you any more. I just want to tell you all these because i want you to know , that you are the very best friend I've ever had in my life. I don't think there is any one out there that can replace you and the amount of trust i had for you. I was being a total jerk to you when you were always there to give me advice on every thing in my life . Misplacing your trust is the last thing that i seriously want to do , I was being insensitive and i deserve to be hated. Perhaps I didn't showed any form of appreciation to you before that you've have taken notice of so want to thank you, for everything and I'm sorry...for the things that I've done...really sorry dude...

Please embrace me closely ,with your shadows..

Come one day we seek shelter from the blinding light under a shadow..
Come one night darkness falls and engulfs us as one...
Come one day some one brightens and removes your shadow..
Upon that day we shun and hate light for all else that follow...
